The Nintendo Switch

Hey everyone! I hope the spring has treated you well. I’m looking forward to summer this year to play with the Switch! First let me tell you my about my difficulty obtaining it. I ordered the Switch Zelda/Mariokart bundle online from GameStop’s website last month. Then it never arrived! I wasn’t charged luckily, but I received mixed answers from GameStop’s support email about the status of my order. I had to call the customer service line and was recommended to order again. I realized whenever I have ordered things from their website I always have some sort of problem. So I went into the store to order and asked if I could pick it up in store. Technically it’s still an online order, but I hoped it would be different this way. Luckily this time it worked out, but I did have to settle for another bundle. The MarioKart game arrived early and then the console along with accessories arrived separately on the listed release date. Next problem- There were no codes in the box …

Mini-Mini Con 2017

-A Mini Review of a Mini Con- Mini-Mini Con is a free to attend convention in San Antonio. This year it was great. It truly felt like a convention rather than just a promotional event for San-Japan. They had panels, gaming area, meet-ups, events, and a cosplay contest. I checked out the artist alley with my friends first. There were booths along the first and second floor that were well spread out. Some booths were from organizations such as the local library and college clubs selling baked goods. We found a karaoke room as well as musicians performing on the mall’s stage. There were video game tournaments going on as well as some free to play games. A friend and I were excited about the Ita bag meet-up. Just some weeks before we decided we wanted to make a bag to decorate. Ita bags are usually small backpacks or purses adorned with buttons, key chains, and other items that can be displayed. The bags usually have a transparent plastic covering to protect the items. The …

Pax South 2017 (part 1)

Pax South was a ton of fun this year. Pax is a video game convention that has four events in the United States. Pax South is known for having many indie games. This was the first time I went solo to a convention. I met up with my friend here and there, but we had different agendas. It was also the first time I carried a journal with me to keep a captain’s log of my experience. Pax South is a three day event, but I’ve found two days are more than enough for me. Pax South Day 1 The day started out with me getting into the wrong line for the expo hall. Good grief! I was kicking myself mentally and quickly made it to where I should have been. I love Fridays because it has a smaller crowd compared to the weekend. So this is the day for trying as many things as I could. I headed first to the Nintendo Switch booth. The lines were confusing because one wrapped around the booth …

Pokemon Go Obssesed

I didn’t imagine I would ever get into a mobile app phone game. Usually I get bored within a short time, but this is the most fun and promising game yet. I had to try it as a fan of Pokemon. I love their games! I went out Sunday and saw hoards of people walking together, couples strolling in parks, and parents with their kids looking for Pokemon. I found myself being asked by my co-workers about the game, because people came in looking for Pokemon. It surprised me how quickly people have picked up the game. I’ve heard there will be many improvements headed our way; There will be new game mechanics such as leader scoreboards and customization of gyms. That will keep me intrigued to see what amazing things come.

Gaming in May/June

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been well. Lately I have been going between various games. I picked up Bravely Second the day it came out, but I haven’t progressed very far because of other games I’m still into. Bravely Second– (3ds) This turn style RPG with the ability to switch job classes is so fun. I love that you can change jobs and still use skills from one of the character’s previous jobs. Finding a complimentary skills and abilities is the key to building powerful characters. As you progress through the story and do side quests you unlock more jobs. I adore the story and the characters. The friendly bantering is something I look forward to instead of skipping over. I haven’t played the first game. I was glad they did have explanations and a summary about the previous game so I don’t feel I missed out on something vital. I still would love to play the first one later. This is one of the best RPGs I’ve played in a while.
